“ …over the course of our ten sessions I felt myself quickly coming out of the dark place I was in.”
My name is Nikita, and I have suffered with CFS / ME (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome / Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) for three years. Throughout the three years, I have endured loads of additional symptoms whilst trying to work through my GCSE exams and then moving onto college. Life was really hard during that period and the medical doctors I had were hopeless and never seemed to understand how I was feeling or how I could be helped.
I had CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) for under a year, and whilst the calming techniques helped, I could not use them to take away the illness. The therapy then stopped when I was coming to the age of eighteen, and I was left with no support from any therapists or doctors until I would be referred to the adult clinic.
As more time passed, I became really depressed. Three years of my life had been all about pain and suffering and I had no idea how much longer it was going to take to get better – or if I would ever get back to normal. I wanted to give up; there was nothing more I wanted to do or try out of fear I would be either left again, or it wouldn’t help me. During my lowest moments my mum told me that Paul had offered to help me and that it was worth one more try.
It was definitely worth one more try! From the first visit, Paul helped me to get instant results and even relieved my headaches there and then. I was eager for the next session, and over the course of our ten sessions I felt myself quickly coming out of the dark place I was in. Each time I left our sessions, I always thought to myself how much easier it would’ve been if I had seen him before rather than the succession of so called experts! I’m just grateful that we did get to meet and work on recovering and helping me become a better version of myself.
Thanks to Paul, I am pretty much who I was before the illness, with new experiences on my shoulders, and a realisation that there is still so much of my life to look forward to!
Thank you Paul,
