I am always excited when a new client commits to a process of change. From my perspective as a therapist and a coach, it is fascinating to see how an individual's process of change naturally unfolds. Client EM's pathway to change was very fast indeed. EM came to me in a state of deep inner turmoil but by the end of our work together she skipped out of the door and re-engaged with the important things in her life. Here is what EM had to say about our work together: Client EM -
To a degree, I believe that we all wear a mask and client LT was no different. From the outside LT was clean cut, upright in his posture and smiley. However, underneath the surface he was in a state of inner turmoil, which did not befit his physical appearance. From our first session he expressed how good it felt to finally talk about his issues. I assured him that everything he said was confidential and that I would not judge him no matter what he shared. I felt that was the
Client PR came to me with what he described as " a lot of mental and emotional baggage". He appeared to be very stuck in his life and could not see a way forward to what he really wanted. Over the course of twelve weeks we unpicked the knot in his thinking and week by week I saw a significant change in his thinking and approach to life. This is what PR had to say about our work together - "When I first started working with Paul I was quite frankly struggling with everything.
Client MW came to me, in what I can only describe as, an exasperated state! Her energy was very low and she appeared overwhelmed with negative feelings about herself. As a therapist it can be hard to see someone, who has the majority of their life behind them, in such a heavy and difficult place. A big part of the success we created together came from MW's desire for change, which I believe is the most important factor any person can bring to a therapist. MW's journey of tran
"I end 2016 with over £4000 raised for the charity, 5 stone 9 lbs lighter....." When Paul approached me with the exceptionally kind offer to support me with my charity slim this year, I jumped at the chance. I was in a very positive and determined frame of mind at this point, but then I always am at the beginning of a diet. My cyclical pattern of strict diet followed by falling off the wagon and throwing in the towel is a very well warn path! I had therefore no problems ident
I have been working with Barnaby Cox throughout 2016. Specifically we have been working together to improve his mindset and mental resilience in competition surfing. On October 9th Barnaby achieved his main goal for 2016 and is now the under 16's British Surfing Champion. I asked Barnaby to comment on his journey this year and here is what he had to say:
"At the beginning of the year Paul helped me set my intentions for 2016. After my intentions and goals were on paper for t
"I always went about my life thinking I wasn't fully in control of it and as a result of this I never truly felt happy in life. Paul helped me to realise I have the confidence and tools to do anything I set my mind too. I learnt that things happen for a reason whether it's a good or a bad thing, but either way it gives me information to use and move forward in life. Being able to let go of what I thought were bad decisions I had made in the past, were actually valuable lesson
I came to see Paul to see if we could work on my social anxiety problem that's been plaguing me for about 14 years now. After 6 highly enjoyable sessions of Neural Pathway Restructuring (NPR) I can honestly say I have never felt so confident and relaxed around people in all my life! I can now walk into previously scary social situations and feel pretty much totally at ease. I feel so comfortable now in certain situations that I don't even seem to think about how comfortable
“I have never attended a Family Constellation workshop before and found it an illuminating and emotional experience. The surprising aspect was that working with complete strangers through role play gave me insight in to my familial issues that had never occurred to me before. My own anxiety was exposed and left me feeling very emotional but also that a large weight had been lifted off of my shoulders and I had been given permission to be just me……A very worthwhile experience”
“I was never a great believer in alternative therapies. I always dealt with problems internally, with varying degrees of success, but I had never been able to make myself do the one thing I have always wanted to do which is write. Somebody told me that hypnotherapy had helped them stop doing something so I wondered if it could help me start doing something. I contacted Paul and we met for a consultancy session. Paul was affable, approachable, personable, and clearly capable.
